X11 library conflict?

Hello

I am attempting to build Glade-2 and it's dependent software.
I get the following message at the link stage.
I have tried moving things around etc.

UX:i386ld: ERROR: symbol: '_XkeyTable' defined in two shared objects:
libX11.so:
size = 13649, /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6.2: size = 26263
gmake[2]: *** [libglade-2.0.la] Error 1

I have successfully built Glade-2(with issues but it did link) if I
link the 6.2 library to /usr/lib/libX11.so, but then the Xserver will
not work or start.

It appears that the new libgtk has something to do with the problem.

OSR 5.0.7 MP3
with included gcc compiler
